Jazz piano, spontaneous improvisation, musical storytelling, to process feelings in realtime and lift the spirits. This one, called simply "Stay!", is designed to challenge or defy those sabotaging gremlins in my head, thoughts I really don't want to believe telling me that I shouldn't use the kind of delicious, rich, sweet, nostalgic harmony, that it is self-indulgent. But I love it and think it's really cool, and that's all that matters. We all have our own personal tastes. When I hear these kinds of dreamy sounds, I can't resist them - it's musoc that uses a special kind of chromatic harmony that's full of dark, sweet flavours, like bar of musical chocolate with a soft centre. Yum!
